40k Short Story - State of Mind

"Milady, we are ready to move out."

Haldir, the Kabalite warrior informs his mistress of the webway portal's materialization, but she appears to be in her own world, staring out into the darkness of the Commorite skies. The Archite is looking up upon the skies with as she leans upon her right palm and her elbow upon the railings of the Raider. Her legs are crossed in a state of rest, her heels carefully resting upon the bars where the deck's railing would not trap her heels.

In his mind, he is tempted to stab her to take over the Kabal as she was daydreaming. Should he do it? Or is this a trap? Haldir grips upon his dagger, wondering if it is wise to attempt the dark desires of murder in his mind. He looks around and as the other Kabalite warriors toil to climb on their sleek, dagger-like transports it appears that there is nothing stopping him from doing so. He unsheathe his blade a little as to not alert and telegraph his attempt to the Archon.

                                                      ***************

Despite her form being healed back to its apex by the Haemonculi of Commoragh, but her soul remains a little out of sync from her mind, and in the dark spires of Commoragh it is akin to tempting fate as she needs her lightning reflexes to be in its peak performance to survive the dark spire jungles of the dark city. The reason for this lack of synchronization of her mind falls down to one matter; the thoughts of her little pets and their old relative that is currently taking care of them.

There is something inside Vespera that seeks the answer to why she is treating the Mon-Keigh under her care to something above the treatment of playthings or livestock that so often befalls their kind. At the same time, she has an unprecedented desire to jealously hoard them to herself and guard them as if they are part of her. Although they would never thought the same about her as she would to them, but in a way that is how things are meant to be.

                                                  ***************

As Haldir moves closer and closer, his heart attempts to not beat faster than it should be. The Archite is still staring upon the dark skies, as if wondering if it ever going to change to something else. However before he could do the deed himself, another Kabalite warrior moved forward with the lightning speeds that only a Dark Eldar could move in, attempting an assassination.

Haldir was a second too late, and all he could do is to slip the dagger out of his own scabbard and moved towards the Archite, not wanting for the other Kabalite to take the glory. If anything, Haldir could take the confusion to slip the dagger to the Archite, or he could stab the assassin to curry favour with the mistress. However as he moved, time starts to slow down for the Kabalite warrior and he moves slower and slower.

                                                  ***************

They were never meant to put their trust in her, seeing that she is the reason why their parents are slain by her handmaidens. Alas, she wonders what she could have done to earn a little bit of their trust or at least to not let them look upon her as a blight upon their existence. Granted, she did terrorize the youngest of the brood twice, once intentionally to force her grandfather to speak, and another was unintentional as she brought her to a meal between two other archons.

This would be tough, as Mon-Keighs are not Dark Eldar, and their train of thoughts are as different as those of a beast of burden and its owner. Perhaps it needs to be something instinctual, something primal for her to reach out to their hearts? Would feeding it helps in earning its docility? Would petting it...hold on a second.

She needs to take care of something trivial first.

                                              ***************

However, the would-be assassin's efforts ended as quickly as it began. Despite the slowing of time, Haldir could clearly see what is going on before his eyes.

With a slight lean of her head, the assassin's blade missed her head within a fraction of an inch and with the grace and ruthlessness of one of the high nobility that ruled Commoragh the palm where her head is resting drops slightly and she gently pushes her palm forward. Such was the momentum of the assassin that the assassin missed her entirely and the assassin's throat was struck by the palm of the Archite with such force that the assassin jerked back forcing one leg to lift off the deck. The crossed leg of the Archite moves gently forward and hooks the assassin's leg that is still on the deck and hooked it forward. With the slight force, the assassin loses his balance and is now falling down on the deck.

The leg that the Archite used to hook the assassin proceed to move in a perfect circular motion and is raised above her head in a perfect vertical position before it falls down upon the assassin. The assassin falls down upon the floor with a loud thud and the force is such that he bounced upwards. As he bounced upwards due to the recoil from the deck, the heel of the Archite's footwear flawlessly slip between the armour around his neck and with the force of the axe kick, the assassin was violently slammed down on the deck once more but with the heel of the Archite penetrating his neck with such force that it goes through the deck.

The Kabalite warrior known as Haldir stop just short of the slain assassin, and as he watches the flawless kill by the Archite, the Archite looks at him and twists her heel that was inside the assassin's neck. The loud audible crack snaps Haldir from his stupor, and immediately he found the words he needs.

"Milady, are you alright?" Of course, as with any Dark Eldar, these words are a lie, but the courtesy is needed anyway. Fortunately for Haldir, the Archite did not see him as a fellow conspirator and thus his life is not forfeited for his drawing of the dagger.

"Of course I am. Please clean up this mess for me. Also please command the others to not bother me." The Archite pulls out her heel from the slain assassin, and walks off to the prow of the raider. The Kabalite warrior could do nothing else, and he drags the body to be dumped out from the Raider.

Haldir was glad that he did not attempt the assassination, for Archite Vespera Phyliantrx's reflexes are on an entirely different level than those of his own. He could be the one that is thrown abroad instead of the assassin. Such precision, such brutality, such grace. Such mindless killing of someone like stomping an insect is just inspiring for the Kabalite warrior. He wonders what went through her mind as she callously killed a Dark Eldar without even a shred of emotion?

                                           ***************

She sighed a little as she once more drift into her thoughts of the young pets of hers after getting rid of a slight distraction to the more pressing issue in her mind. Should she bring the little Mon-Keigh out to play in the hanging gardens or should she show them around the Port of Lost Souls? Or should she do something else entirely? Such was the mind to drift itself to concerns of the soul, whom the Archite lacks to the point of near emptiness. If only her mind could be as empty as her soul.

Such was the state of her mind.

The Talk - A Short Story

It's so dark in here.....wait.....my eyelids are closed. Okay now....let's open them up a little...that's it. There you go. Wait....it is still very dark in here....wait....where am I? And what is that ticking sound?

"Are you awake?" I heard the mysterious voice. I proceed to look around, but there is no one in sight. The air around me is putrid and thick with a smokey aroma. And apparently I am have a feeling that I am being bound and blindfolded or something.

"It seems that you are now well rested. Now...shall we continue?" The voice is both cultured and smooth, as if the voice is a member of the aristocracy. From the way the voice echoes, it appears that I am in an empty room.

"Okay...?" For some strange reason I do not remember what I am doing, let alone remember that I am doing something with someone. Only thing I know, I am being held by this person.

"So how was your day?" The voice is affably nice, but yet I am not taken in by his mannerism. This is getting weird, but it is better for me to goad him to talk so that I know what happened here. I need to know how did I ended up in this situation.

"I don't know....feeling a little confused? How was yours?"

"Very well. To tell you the truth, I have been out of it for a while now."

"Huh?"

"You know, being busy and all makes things so much more hectic and thus I am unable to have a meal. And my it is always hard to talk to someone when one is on an empty stomach. Don't you agree?" I can hear footsteps walking around me, and I wonder if I am being interrogated or something. That would explain the bound feeling that I am experiencing.

"You see, I am a connoisseur of food and I love a good fine meal. But my duties always prevent me from having my meals in peace and my, that always makes me very sad. But at least, I enjoy my duties as much as my love for fine food." Great, he sounds like he is either an interrogator or he is a kidnapper. Or both.

"So why don't you get out of your job and have a meal?" I sarcastically retorted.

"Very true at that. But then...I can never leave a work undone. It would go against everything I believe in a good working etiquette. Come to think about it, since we are stuck here, would you like to listen to some music? At least it will make us all feel better."

Before long, a beautiful harmonious sound serenaded itself around my ear. The music sounds really classy and tranquil, but yet so evocative and strong. In short, damn..... this is some really nice relaxing tones.

"See? Music does make things feel better. So as I was saying, my duties are not the best around, but I tried to enjoy every moment of it. I try to enjoy the little things you know."

Slowly as the voice conversed with me, the more I want to know what is going on with this very odd situation. There are just so many questions that I need to ask the voice, but so far the voice has been rather nice to me and has been keeping me company for a considerable amount of time. The small talks are quite articulated and enjoyable in many sense, but now the curiosity has build up to the point where I need to ask.

"Why am I being held here? This does not sound like an interrogation at all from my understanding of it. Are you holding me for ransom? Or maybe a hostage exchange or something? Why am I being gagged?" Instead, I am greeted with a very affable laughter. Before long, the music has also stopped, leaving only the ticking sound ringing in my ears. And slowly but surely the laughter started again, this time becoming very sinister indeed.

"Oh...that's rich. Well, that saying you have no idea what is going on anyway."

Okay, this is now getting very disconcerting for me. The way he puts it, it is as if I am being held here for the sake of it. What if I am being held here for the sake of being held? Am I imprisoned here until I die?

"Well, I am very sure that by now you are thinking that you are being held here for the sake of it. In fact you would be thinking that there is a possibility of you being a captive for the sake of it and will have to become a prisoner for the rest of your life." The voice is still affable, but it now has a very sinister tone.

"How??!?! How did you.....How??!?"

"Well it is easy really. Do you even remember anything else right now? I dare you....try to remember something."

Immediately I tried to remember something, but there is nothing in my mind. Not a memory of the past, not a single one. In fact, I do not even know my name. How is that even possible? Who am I? What am I? What is going on? Why am I here?

"You seriously took my dare. At least you dared to do so. Oh yeah, by the way.....Have you not noticed that other than the bound feeling, you are not feeling any other part of your body?"

The voice is right......now that I think about it, I can't feel anything else as well! What is going on?!?

"WHAT  HAVE YOU DONE TO ME??!?!!?" The voice is now silent. The voice....the monster......is not talking anymore. And that is indeed worse than anything else as that thought is now haunting my mind. My mind is further corrupted with the horrors of my existence being a cosmic joke. The ticking sound is now accompanied by the mind screams of my soul, and the combination of the voices only further darkened my soul into a deeper despair. This moment felt like an eternity, and it hurts so much.

"TALK TO ME! DAMN IT TALK TO ME YOU MONSTER! Please.......talk to me....please....."I am now weeping and pleading for it to talk to me. I can't take it...I can't take it......

"Well, my meal is now done. Time to eat. It is unfortunate that this will be the last time I will have this exquisite meal, as there is so little left. Oh well....it was nice talking to you." And suddenly the ticking stopped.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT??!?!?!?!?!!!" But now there is not a single sound, save that of a deafening silence. But now, another thing starts to take hold in me.The voice's nonchalant and discordant reply only served to build up the fear within me. It is now ignoring me for the sake of its meal? What the hell is wrong with this being? But then....it occurred to me that earlier it was talking to me about how hungry it was and how the job is preventing it from having a good meal. What if the job of the monster is not that of tormenting me and holding me prisoner?

And then it occurred to me; the reason for my lack of memories, my lack of sensations, my imprisonment, the smell, the odd words that the voice is uttering right now and......that ticking sound. I am the last remnants of my soul that had been devoured for a long, extended time and that ticking sound is the sound of the machine used to prepare my soul for consumption.

Before long, I felt a darker presence around me and I can feel my existence being bled out little by little towards the darker presence. I tried as hard as I could, but I could not escape the presence that is the dark abyss of a presence. As I futilely attempted to claw my way out of the abyss, there is only one last thing thing I could only think of;

And now I must scream.

Trust - A short story

As she watches them from a tainted glass, the little children that she taken from Verdant's World are now playing around in a room reserved for them under the watchful eye of their old one. If treatments of slaves were categorized into levels, theirs would be a much exalted one. Vespera did not chain them nor torture them at all, and they have a room that is fit for a Dark Eldar nobility. She also wonders why she gave them the best possible treatment. She decided that she should enter the room just to see her little pets.

As she entered the room, the little ones stopped playing and flocked to their old one. With every step, Vespera could sense the fear from them all. This is always nice, but for some odd reason she wanted them to not fear her.  The old one started speaking, and Vespera always find it enjoyable to speak to the old one for he is the only thing she captured that dares to speak back to her. For that he had earned the privilege of her speaking in their barbaric language.

"You have taken Anna, and you scared the hell out of her. What do you want this time?"
"But I did gave her back to you is it not, old one?"
"To terrorize us with the fear of own own flesh and blood?"
"No, if I were to terrorize you, I would do it more eloquently. I did nothing to her save to bring her out to a meal with me. Do not worry, I did not eat anything humanoid. But she did see my father and my rival, and perhaps that is fearful enough for her." Vespera pulls a chair from the table nearby and sits down, looking at the human with her icy blue eyes. The human looked at her with the armor of contempt. Amazing how this old one is able to meet her eye to eye.

" By the way old one, did you realize that this room is for my kind's nobility? Have you not wondered why you are not in the slave cages living in your own filth? You surely must have known it."
"Yes, I noticed but yet I must ask why? Don't your kind treat us nothing less than living?"
"Yes, your kind is but fodder to our souls. But alas, you and your young ones are special. If I were to put it in your language, I would say that I have no reason to harm you and your little ones."
"You have done enough." The old man's words are filled with sarcasm.
"Yes, I would admit that. But what I do know is that you should not fear me."

More looks of contempt come from the old one, and Vespera knew that she will have to make a point. Thus she beckons him to follow her. The mon-keigh knew that to defy the words of the Archite would be tantamount to suicide. He followed her outside the comforts of the place they call their home for the past few weeks. Vespera could see that the old one telling the little ones to stay in their room to their protestation. As Vespera closes the door and walks away, the old man and his followed in her steps.

The corridors are of the darkest of obsidian, and the dark but beautiful architecture of the hallway is visible to all of them. A deeply menacing atmosphere, and Rikkard could only wonder what is going on. Is this Dark Eldar going to lead them to their deaths? As they passed by more and more Kabalite warriors, he could sense their dark desires seeping out from their armor, wanting to do many things to them that Rikkard prefer not to think about.  It seems that ironically, the only thing that is keeping them from doing their thing is the presence of their leader as her presence is the only reason why the other Dark Eldar did not come upon them like a school of sharks. Finally, after some time walking around, they find themselves at the end of the passage. The female leader waits for them, and as they exit the passage, they could see a huge courtyard with dark blue grasses and the sight of the sharp, jagged spires jutting out from the skies like spears is omnipresent. Each of the structure has a rather dark and sinister hue, reflected by the dark turquoise sun above them, Rikkard could only feel a dark wonder to all of this.

"Beautiful isn't it? This is a place I have called my home for the past six hundred years. But like what you humans call a rose, it is a beauty with dangers. I could open the doors of your 'prison' and let you out to do what you want. But remember that you will be at the mercy of this city. Even a person like myself can never guarantee your survival. I have already treated you very well to be honest. No one touches you all under my presence, but you can see that they all seek for your suffering. Right now, you can see this courtyard." Vespera takes a few steps outside the courtyard, and Rikkard his little ones walks outside with the Xenos.

"This courtyard is the exact place where an attempt on my father's life was done. My father lived, but fully thirty members of his family, including my mother was slain here. Even an Archon is never truly safe in this city, but at least when you are with a Kabal your survival is much higher. For you and your young ones, I am but the... " Immediately her pendant lights up and a dark shadow engulfed them all in its veil. Rikkard and his little ones could only see one part of the shadow being distorted, but returned back to its dark cloudy form immediately. But soon enough more and more shots of light comes towards their direction
"What was that?"  Rikkard then sees the female Xenos chattering away in a crisp and clear manner, and before long a single beam of red light cast its baleful glow upon them and speeds toward the source of the incoming fire, obliterating the part of the spire. The firing immediately stopped.
"Thank you." Rikkard could not believe the words that is escaping his lips, but alas it is the only think he could say.
"This is why I say that you should not fear me. I am your best chance of survival for you and your little ones. I think this is too much for you and I should lead you back to your room." Rikkard could only nod in agreement.

A few days later, Rikkard was graced by the presence of the Xenos leader. She is fully clad in her armor, and oddly enough, she is carrying a sack. To his surprise his grandchildren are not flocking to him and instead they are looking at her with wary eyes. This something new for Rikkard as now it appears that they are not fearful of her, just very cautious. The Xenos  then sets down a huge sack down, and takes off her helm and holds it under her arm.

"Your little ones might enjoy these things." Before he could even ask her what is in the sack, she walks out from the room and closes the door. Anna walks towards the sack and opens it, and she screaming with joy. "What's in the sack dear?" Rikkard asked, a little wary about the thing in the bag.
"Toys!" Soon enough the rest of the children rushed towards the back and they are all screaming with joy.

Why am I treating them so nicely?, Vespera could only wonder as she closes the door, seeing their smiling faces.

The Attention Part 7 - Short Story (Final Part)

Vespera would like to rest in her chambers for the day. After the obliteration of her rival's primary fleet, and arguably the Imperial Crusade that is on her tail and the incoming Ork horde that would drown all the worlds ripe for conquest she 'inherited' the Kabal of the Turbulent Star overnight and took over all their spaceports and stronghold, in essence growing her Kabal twofold. But alas, she will not have her due rest. As she enters her chambers , a dark presence greets her. She did not immediately call for her Kabalites, but instead she activates the runes to activate the lights. Illuminated by the chamber's lights, Lord Ranisold is now right in front and Vespera could only wonder how he is alive, and that is before she noticed that he is in her room.

So far from her sources, the fleets are all but obliterated when one of the Imperial battleships detonated its warpdrive and caused a warp storm and engulf everything within. A warp storm engulfs everything, and surely there will not be a single part of his body available for his regeneration. How did he do it? She does know the answer to the question, but alas she is waiting for the answer to escape the lips of the Archon.

"A portable Webway portal is always handy especially when you are in a dastardly bad situation." The Archon speaks as if to answer Vespera's inner thoughts.
"I see...so why are you in my private chambers Lord Ranisold? Do you want to exact your revenge on me?"
" I could, but unfortunately I have the feeling that I was led into the chambers rather than sneaking in. You must have something planned."
"Indeed. I did let you in or else you will die a painful death."
Vespera's every step echoes with a certainty and grace of a sabrecat towards her bar of concoctions from across the galaxy. She then pours a glass of a concoction of some kind for both herself and her guest and walks towards the Archon, her movement as enticing as it is dangerous.

"No worries Milord, it is not poisoned. I would not want to poison myself do I?" As the Archon takes the glass, he could smell that this particular concoction is not particular to the Dark Eldar distillery, but something else entirely. As she sits down upon her bed and crossed her legs, Ranisold could only wonder what is this woman up to.

"Tanith sacra would be the name of the drink. A particularly rare alcoholic drink, as the wold that produce it is no more. "
"So is this a way of saying that I am but a ghost?" The Archon sips the liquor and let the unique taste of the drink linger around his mouth before he swallows.
"A mon-keigh drink, but one that I grew to like."
" What are you suggesting here?"
"Well...I need a person who knows how to commands the fleets. So far none of my own people are capable."
"What about elements of my Kabal that you forced into servitude?"
"None are particularly bright and their experience with coordinating planetary invasions and fleet actions at once is nothing less than pathetic."
"And that is why you are entertaining me?"
"Yes, I know an space-bound Archon like you know best about these kinds of things. Indeed, I quite safely assume that you would meet me somehow after that incident." Vespera is playing around with the Archon, trying to inflict as much pain as possible with every word. She takes off her helm, and as her pale beauty reveals itself she gives the Archon a smile. All she needs for the Archon to do is to get the point of why she is still keeping him alive.

"Inyon lama-quanon." The Archon answered.
"Yes, I want to dominate. It may be or may be not what you want to do to me, but I know what I want. All I ask is for you to kneel. If you don't it is fine by me but...", Vespera takes out a locket and activates the rune on it, "you will find out soon enough what will happen if you don't."

The Archon did not understand the significance of the pendant, but when he tries to speak, his mouth fails to move. Realizing what she had done to him, he could only look at her with venom in his eye. Vespera could only agree more with him. A creation of her private Haemonculi, the pendant allow one to jam any kind of electrical signals, from the shadowfields to the neurons in the brain. Of course she asked that the calibration is enough for a person to be fully paralyzed rather than stopping the life functions of a person. And before long, Lord Ranisold starts to kneel down as his legs buckled under his body weight.

"So I would take that as a yes." Vespera could only kneel down beside him and whisper to his ear.
"Now you will have my undying attention....." And Vespera chuckled, with the Dark City as the witness of this dark pledge.

The Attention Part 4 - Short Story

An Archon is always a fearful thing indeed, even among the Dark Eldar, but even amongst all the Archons there are some that one rather not mess with, at least openly. Vect is one, but for Vespera there is another. And that Archon is here today in her stronghold. This particular one is unique as he used to be an Archon, but nonetheless gave his power away for the sheer fun of it. Vespera now holds that power.

"My dear....how nice to see you again." This particular dark eldar is clad in a rather baroque armor, even for the denizens of Commorragh and his helm is elongated with a rich flowing mane adorning it. Vespera can only give the dark eldar a courteous nod, and proceed to accompany the Dark Eldar down the hallowed hallways of the kabal's stronghold.

"Nice to see you as well, father. So how was your journey across what the mon-keigh call the Calixis sector?" Vespera always disliked her father's visit, for he tend to have a knack for timing it with some rather interesting conundrum that she currently face in her life.

"Very good, very good. But....I feel that for some reason, the journey is a little....dry." The old Dark Eldar speaks with a rather raspy, but sinister tone. Vespera can never forget that voice for as long as she lived, for it was the voice that she grew up with. She had never heard her mother's voice, for apparently she was a victim of an attempted assassination attempt upon her father. The fool of an Archon who planned the assassination had his face adorning her father's helmet which he wears at all time.

"Why is it dry though? Don't they have many souls for you to at least enjoy yourself?"

"Well, you know the ones my age. When we let ourselves go, we really just let ourselves go. I don't feel much anymore, and my eyes are not as sharp as they used to be. But if there is one thing I have sensed, I sensed that my dear Hierarch got something on her mind. You never ask me about my trips, nor care about my wellbeing ever since I gave you the Kabal. So again...what is on your mind my dear?" Despite the age of the old Eldar, one can see a deep and dark abyss of venom seeking out the truth from the helm's visor.

Still the same old calculating father, Vespera said in her mind.

"Is this something about a rumor I am hearing? That the Archon of the Turbulent Star is courting a mate-to-be?" The old Eldar's expression is hidden behind the visage of a flayed face.

"N....No. Lord Ranisold only asked that I dine with him, and only if I want to." Vespera knew that telling the truth is perhaps the better option here. She never want to get on her father's bad side.

"Ah... I see, I see. So it is about the Archon I am hearing about. Well, I would personally like to meet this Archon myself, but I couldn't possibly meet him like this. I need....an excuse." The old Eldar tilted his head, as if goading Vespera to say something that he wants to hear.

"But father...I got no reason to meet him." However, Vespera know that that this reply will be insufficient for her father, for her father got something else on his mind.

"Well, my dear....I would like to be that reason. I would like to see if he is really what he is. If it is possible, please do so today." The old Eldar then decided to split away from his daughter and walks down the corridor. Before long, a retinue of Incubi proceed to emerge from the shadows surrounding the old Eldar and  escort their liege immediately to wherever their liege pleases. Vespera can only wonder what her father is thinking of at times, and she proceeds to contact her lieutenant.

"Selendra...send one of the scourges over to the Kabal of the Turbulent Star to announce our arrival later on today. Tell Ranisold that he would be expecting some rather interesting guests...."

The Attention Part 3 - Short Story

Verdant's World.

A beautiful world, where nature and technology blends together in perhaps one of the more beautiful worlds of the Imperium. The world's oddly toxic ground atmosphere is such that humans are forced to live upon great trees that extends itself towards the strastosphere, each housing a major human settlement, with the largest trees housing several human settlements. Other than that, it is as imperially law-abiding as any Imperial world can ask for.

A world that Vespera had chosen for her next realspace raid, and the world she chose primarily for its extensive communications array that could support whatever it is that is within Faolchu, the messenger-thing that had her Kabal even planning this invasion. How the name Faolchu came about, she never really knew but before long every Kabalite in her Kabal is calling the messenger-thing Faolchu. Clad in her elaborately-crafted ghostplate armor and her custom-made phantasm grenade launchers, she looked upon the world as a place that is just too bright for her, however due to its rather peculiar triad of suns the planet is always lit up. This also poses a challenge for her Kabal, for daylight often means that the defenders would be able to mount a more comprehensive defense and obliterate her forces.

This forced her to take a more insidious route to the planet. Using a small craft, she would infiltrate a small group of her finest Kabalites into the heart of the largest tree settlement and from there on, she would deploy several of her portable webway portals, allowing her forces to bypass the planetary defenses and wreak havoc immediately in the interior of the largest settlement, the cluster of settlements named Verdant's Heart.

If there is a webway portal linked upon this world, she would not have to make such preparations but alas this world is apparently not linked to the webway. For some reason, Vespera seeks to see the message by herself, and thus she will be joining her infiltration squad with Faolchu in tow.

The Attention Part 2 - Short Story

Vespera is somewhat annoyed that she is now forced to stay at all times in her kabal stronghold, the aptly named Tower of Venom ever since the attempted assassination on her life. Despite the fact that she managed to blunt their attempts and taking one of the kroots as her plaything, her she is rather curious as to who is this Lord Ranisold that is after her life. Thus she asked her Kabal to investigate the mysterious Archon. Today, she is being briefed by one of her handmaiden as to the identity of Lord Ranisold, surrounded by her favoured lieutenants.

The Attention Part 1 - Short Story

Nothing new here.....

Lady Vespera looks around the pleasure club that she is in, and sees that there is nothing that made her heart race. The usual electro-torture poledancing of slaves and bloodbaths raves are nothing new to her, as is the idea of modifying a mon-keigh to become a music machine in which a Dark Eldar artisan does his musical muse as the lesser Dark Eldar fornicating under the booming music, high on the latest drugs available in Commorragh.

Lady Vespera's Solution - a short story

Urgh......

Lady Vespera wakes up with her heart pounding like blows of powerfists upon a shadowfield, and she hates it when she wakes up with a cranky mood. But then, if it does she must be that time again, a time where she would not even want any contact with anyone. She pulls her bedsheet away, revealing her amorous form and walked towards the dark reflective surface at the end of her room and looked at her form. Despite her impossibly beautiful form, and long, velvety dark turquoise hair running down her back, she knows that she is not in her top form today. What she would kill to go back into her bedsheets and rest away her fatigue....

Unfortunately for her, a loud thumping can be heard on the door.

"Who dares disturb my slumber?" Vespera lied, but that is a rather natural thing for her to say, and indeed if she does not even know how to lie, she might as well end up as one of the slave-things found in Lower Commorragh.

"My lady, today is the day. The Kabalites are getting restless, and personally my Wracks are already eviscerating themselves to put themselves in a rather favourable mood for today...." A muffled but dark and sinister voice, even for a Dark Eldar can be heard over the doors to Vespera's chambers.

It's today?! Urgh....I don't feel like it....
