Coven, Coven everywhere......

Hello and welcome back to the webway!

With the new Dark Eldar codex around the corner, the seeping pain from my wallet has finally begun.

Now I will be honest, I hated the old new haemonculus as I really hated the darn crucified Jesus look, and preferred the older models (I am fortunate to get enough of them). And I always asked myself, why did GW even approved the idiot?

He was one of the models I really hoped they would remake but I really doubt that it will happen. And then this happened......

And my reaction was......

I mean look at the details and also the aesthetic......this thing is exactly how I imagine a Haemonculus to be. Not too much on the armour and bondage, but more flesh and also less retarded pose and weird spider arms. This model has the right amount of everything.

Suffice to say, despite my general abhorrence to single model plastic, I will make an exception for this guy.

Along with the Haemonculus, came what is perhaps one of the most requested models to be turned into plastic for all Dark Eldar players everywhere; Wracks.

Now this guys.....I always loved them, and indeed I bought like 5 boxes of them while they are in finecast. However, my experiences with them when it comes to building material is more or less iffy as they are more fragile than even the normal Dark Eldar plastics and that stopped me from buying more. I knew that if GW wants to take our money, they better make these guys plastic.

Suffice to say I am quite happy with this decision.

They are a subtle kind of upgrade to the Finecast wracks and indeed for a person who have no idea about these guys, they looked the same. However to a Dark Eldar connoisseur, there are a few differences that could be spotted right away. For one, the masks have a little more variety now, and also the boney racks are quite different from the Finecast ones. I also noticed that they now have a little more variety on their clubs as well.

Now we move on to the more obvious things.....

Weapon-wise, I knew this would have to happen and being plastic means having a new weapon option, and the name of this baby is the Ossefactor. For some reason, I have a hunch that it is a weapon that wounds depending upon toughness value or something that affects that. Hearing that they could get power mauls also interests me, as I really wonder what would be the true benefit of that. It is nice, but I really am rather fond of the poisoned weapons. Scissorshand is now in plastic, but I think it would not truly have a grand difference in the game (unless they make it like a flesh gauntlet).

Another fun thing I noticed is that now they gave you the parts to make Wrack pilots and gunners, which is a nice thing for all the coven players out there.

The White Dwarf also gave us a weird new mini-game to play with, but I really don't bother too much with this.

There is also a weird new spray that will be coming with these releases, and I kinda have a feeling I know what would the colour be. Nonetheless it is a nice thing.

However my greatest nergasm is about to come, as this is shown at the end of the book;

I reallllllly want the darn Voidraven, and I really want it to be a dual kit like the Stormfang/Stormtalon, and I know I will get 3 of each if that happens! I am a dumbass that way, but hey I love Dark Eldar!

Gamewise, I am honestly not too bothered with the soon-to-be changes as I really have a stupidly large Dark Eldar army that I know will withstand the test of time.

I am pleased so far with the releases, as it captures the feel of the Covens the way I always imagined them to be. Now if only they release those Grotesque in plastic.......but that is a tall order of a dream for now.

Dark Eldar Coming!

Heya all, it has been a while since I posted anything, but this time there is a true reason.

Dark Eldar is coming!

So far from what the rumours are chirping about, I am seeing a Voidraven, a new Vect on Dais, and a weird book called Artifex. No idea what the hell the book is supposed to be, but I must say that times are good for a Dark Eldar.

The reason why I actually did not game too much with my Dark Eldar recently is because, I find my book suffering from Old Codex Syndrome. I mean, the book is well armed for 7th edition in many ways, but at the same time the book does not have answers to things like gargantuan monstrous creatures, an affordable annti-air unit and last but not least, Wave Serpents. I can confidently kill three of them, but in the end Serpent Spam usually have five of them, and the last two will kill me off. If it was an all-comer list, I can definitely handle  but given my anal attitude about trying to make things casually competitive, I know that I need answers to those things.

I have been playing with my Orks a little, but I found that I still miss the brutality of my Dark Eldar and its speed.

All I can hope for is that the Dark Eldar will have some answers to those units I mentioned and for those who hate psykers, an answer against them too.

7th edition, Gorkanaouts and Rogue Trader Roleplay..these are a few of my favourite thibgs.....

Heya all and it has been ages since I blogged. Life has really messed up my blogging time but that does notnmean I am not with the 40k community.

7th edition came and I had played my first game of 7th woth my Dark Eldar against a Necron with a transcendent C'tan and suffice to say I am surprised by a few thibgs.

1) The c'tan is tough. My poisoned feels crappy against it.

2) my skimmer's survival are almost godlike. Surviving like that is previously impossible.

3) Everything is scoring! Good o' 4th ed, and with objective secured special rules, my idea of always putting the max amount of troops pays off.

On that note, the new Ork models are absolutely stunning and seeing it makes me a very happy Ork player! Time to have an army of Gorkanaut/Morkanaut along with the other ork goodies....of course being an ork I will do my best to make scrathcbuild gorkanauts/morkanauts once I get the idea of the scale of the model.

Thirdly due to me slowing down on the wargaming aspect of 40k, I decided to start a Rogue Trader Roleplay and suffice to say my group and I are really enjoying this RP. It is interesting to see macroeconomics, ship combat and the normal swashbuckling aspects in an RP.

I will do my best to post more of my nonsense once the orks arrive. See ya all on the bounce!

The Greenskins March - Stompas and Dakkajets completed!

Heya welcome back to the webway!

Right now I am quite happy to say that my Waargh!!! for the Apocalypse battle is complete (at least for the big things), and all this within a span of a month! I am always rather surprised on how Orks are the most stress-free when it comes to painting and also converting them and they are a stark contrast to my Dark Eldar.

As you can see in the pic, the cat brought in another Stompa! This one was made out of cardboard and other stupid gubbins in my kit (which amazingly gave me yet another stompa). I will call this Long John as he is rather skinny.

I also managed to get my hands on an airbrush and within a few short moments with it I went ahead
with some rather impressive effects for a dude who handled his airbrush for the first time.

I also managed to finish all my jets, and man they are fun to build and paint! The two scratchbuild ones are build out of even more random garbage and also leftovers from the stompas. Also since I failed to sell away my Devilfishes, I decided that as a true ork, I will need to loot them.

Sadly enough the pic of the other Dakkajet is corrupted, so this pic will have to make do. This pic was taken when I am arranging them for the next few pictures.

And now here is a group pic of some of the orks I have painted, along with some of the boyz.

I can't wait to use them all in the upcoming battle and beat face with them! Now I will proceed with painting the other nonsensical ork things. Until next time, see ya!

Happy Chinese New Year And Also Some Pics Of Another DakkaJet

Heya all and welcome back to the webway!

As a Chinese Malaysian, I wish all the readers a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year and may you guys have a good year in both business, health and wealth,  and not to mention for our dear hobby!

On that remark, I have been a little busy a while with my orks during the lull in the relative visiting and festivities, and somehow while I was making my second Stompa, I somehow build this dude instead. He is a rather monstrous aircraft and indeed due to its size I will make him my primary Dakkajet of awesomeness.

The main issue I have with this dude as well as the other Dakkajet is the matter of making his flight stand and also the flyer base, which will be a project in itself.

Anyhow, time to get back to getting the red packets that can become the funds for my 40k armies!

Completed Stompa and PIP Dakkajet.

Heya welcome back to the webway!

I have finally completed the Stompa and man I will say that this is the largest model that I have ever build (scratchbuild at that!) and painting this beast is a whole new challenge in itself.

Here are the unpainted pics of the Stompa. I could not help using the idea of Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' on my stompa and thus I modeled its Titan CC weapon with a wrecking ball.

The basecoat really helps to make things fit in perspective, and reaffirmed that this monster is real.

I was bored, so I decided to put the Stompa on my head and it fits like a hat.

And now I proudly present the completed Stompa.

The joke works, and I like how Orks can do all of this nonsense and making it rather fluffy.

I would like to thank Darren of Wira Games and Hobbies for helping me with the airbrushed skull logo on my Stompa. Without it the Stompa will look very different.

And now I am going to my next project with the Orks; Dakkajet. Made it out of even more plasticard and garbage and I somehow managed to get a MiG-23 Flogger-like aircraft somehow.

I will be updating even more soon enough! See ya all soon!

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....and Here's a Stompa

Heya all and welcome back to the webway!

It has been a stupid while since I have updated anything in this blog, but that is what I get for being a Human Resources Executive (It is a challenging job and I like it, but it does burn my time I used to have for the hobby). Nonetheless I have not stopped in the hobby side of things as I am now really appreciating my hobby time a lot.

What does it all mean? That means I am seriously allowed to go crazy for assembling some stuff without a care. I have already procured three Taloi and around 20+ Harlequins for my own Dark Eldar madness pursuits and decided to assemble all the remaining Wyches and Kabalites in sprues for future nonsense such as an Apocalypse game.

Speaking about Apocalypse, I was asked by my gaming group to become one part of the Ork Waargh!!! that will be themed around the 3rd War of Armageddon  with the other part of this Waargh!!! being Mr.Chaos of Internetz fame (Man I love being able to be buddies with such a talented madman. In order to get this Waargh!!! all proppa, I have decided that I will complement Mr.Chaos' orks with my own scrap-build madness and allow our side to field a Stompa mob!

Here's the progress for my first stompa, and with the exception of the close combat arm and the necessary chips and grazes I believe he is as complete as it comes. I affectionately call it 'Big Bertha', and I had forgotten the joys of assembling models until I made this stompa using all the nonsensical bitz I have stored in my botz box and also using unwanted things to make this Stompa.

In a way, thanks to this Apocalypse battle, I have found my passion for my Orks once more!

Will be updating with some Orks, as I find my Dark Eldar has reached a certain threshold of evil that players tend to look at my Dark Eldar with a 'Oh god, that army again....." and in many ways I have also burned out on my Dark Eldar a little.

I hope to see ya the next time round!
