Today I would like to just talk about the lean and mean end product of several months of observation, preferences and experience with my dark eldar. Well to be honest there's never an end product, but as of this moment the list that I loved fits my style more easily than the previous lists.

This is the final list that I actually find that suit my style. My list is essentially quite lance heavy and poisoned heavy, and if given a choice I believe that my list would prefer to shoot everything to death or give them a mortal wound before I come in with the rest. This fits with my playstyle; that of a gunslinger (close range shooting) than a sniping one ( Razorspam) or a pugilist (Orks, Tyranids). I guess the Tau in me is a hardass, but at least I get to play more aggressively than most of my armies (even compared to the Orks and the Daemons).
As for my choices some people would not understand why I do not just fill in my troops with wyches. My answer to that; if they would understand they would say that there is no right for me to have more wyches than necessary. Wyches fit a certain role in my army, which is essentially locking down units such as Long Fangs and other static units in combat, or tarpit elite units. For that, I do not need soo much of them.

As nice as that be,I never truly loved them as much as some people would otherwise said and thus I put in the incubi to bolster the wyches in whatever it is that they do and thus I do not need soo much of them less I lose my flexibility. Kabalite warriors are alright and they give me options, and the Trueborns are still as always amazing. I could always put another wych in there, but I realized that that would make my list less flexible. Sadly enough, I can't put in a squad of wrack as I can not spare an extra Haemonculus to make them more useful and they essentially have to compete with the other stuff.
I fell in love with Venoms, and indeed if given a choice I would play with a lot more of them. But alas I must think of the balance in my list and thus I ended up using 4 of them (which is a large margin by any normal DE list that I know of). They never disappoint me at all in every game, which made these guys a backbone for my kabal. My Raiders are essentially assault troop transports and are meant to be used as huge LOS blockers and mobile cover in my list. If they ever survive they will go about hunting stuff to allow for the ravagers to go about doing other nonsense.
The Archon underwent several playtesting and in the end I liked this configuration as I can do quite a number of things with the Archon if given the opportunity.
My list is more Kabal-centric than most of the lists that are out there today for the Dark Eldar, but nonetheless I find that it is able to hold its own against a myriad of opponents. But that saying, I never really brought this army to a cutthroat tournament, so I will never truly know how it will fare out against the other competitive lists out there.
If there's any comment or criticism about the list, please do so in a constructive way.
Meh...same old-boring spam, wonder if DE have any usefull list other than WWP and raider/venom spam.
ReplyDeleteMy list has evolved a little more since this one, as I added in a Razorwing instead while taking out some other unnecessary nonsense.
DeleteNonetheless Grenacid, Dark Eldar need their mobility to get a fair chance of fighting. So if there is some other list, do suggest some yourself as well as I am also interested to know.
